Hello everyone!
I think I should say a few words about the author.
Stephen Edwin King was born September 21, 1947 in Portland, Maine, U.S.
He is an American writer working in many genre such as: horror, thriller, science fiction, fantasy and drama. He got the nickname - King of horror. His books have sold more than 350 million copies, and many of them have been adapted into feature films, television movies and comic books. King has published fifty-five novels, including seven under the pen name Richard Bachman, and six non-fiction books.
He has written nearly two hundred short stories, most of which have been collected in book collections. Many of his stories take place in his home state of Maine. He has received many awards. As for  "The Dead Zone" it was nominated for the Locus Award in 1980.
Hello, my dear readers!
In the novel i found one interesting information gap:
After case when Johnny had got into accident, Sara got married and there is nothing saying about her professional activity in the novel. She has a baby but her child  is sitting with him babysitter. And now it isn't clear about her work at school.
I think that after her wedding she left school and now she is just spending her time at home.

Hello my dear readers!
I've read some reviews about "The Dead Zone" and want to share with you my thoughts about it. It was really interesting what people think about it.
The first review I`ve read was written by
Amy "...When the whole mess with Frank Dodd comes to light, and the reader realizes that Johnny may use his psychic abilities for a higher purpose...that's when it really starts to get good. It's a great thriller..."I completely agree with the author of this review. The episode with Frank Dod was very exciting. I wondered about how they will find the killer(Frank Dod), what he will do etc.and most of all I was surprised at the end of the story( with Frank Dod).
Another review was written by Eric Althoff "While Stephen King has rightfully garnered a reputation as a horror writer, some of his best fiction revolves around stories of everyday humanity affected by elements of the supernatural. After awakening from a five-year coma, John Smith has come back from the ether with a clairvoyance to see certain futures and hidden pasts of others by touch alone. Opting to use his powers for good, John is called upon for such tasks as helping the police to catch an elusive rapist. But when he shakes hands with a political candidate at a rally, he sees a future in which the candidate will initiate nuclear holocaust as president, which leads John to the ultimate dilemma of altering a potentially uncertain future, perhaps even sacrificing himself in the process.

As in his other writing, King's characters breathe and live on the page. While this is indeed a book about a supernatural ability, how John lives after his accident as well as how other people around him react to him and his new ability is what gives the novel true heart. We feel for him because he comes out of his coma an altered man, alternately awed and feared by those who cannot understand what it is to receive an unwanted gift for psychic vision. And we feel for John as he wrestles with the possibly that assassinating the politican will lead to his probable death or his incarceration. And is the future he glimpsed even certain? This is one of the best supernatural fiction works out there.

(Note: Christopher Walken, who played John Smith in the subpar film version, parodied himself in a hilarious SNL sketch in the early 90s in which his character foresaw utterly useless details about those he touched, e.g, "You're going to eat an ice cream too fast...you're gonna get a brain freeze...it's gonna hurt...")".
In my opinion there you really feel the main characters, you worry about them and want to know what will happen next. I think it's important to fell the characters to plunge in atmosphereof the book.
So, I'm sure that many people will like this book.
Hello, my dear readers!
While reading the book I had a few questions.
The first one is: As we already know Johnny has an unusual ability to see and predict something from humans' life or events. Once When Sara visit him at the hospital, Johnny told her about her wedding ring which was lost during her and her husbands' honeymoon . After that she decides to check it. Sara finds this ring where Johnny said it was and she was really shocked But i don't understand - Why did Sara throw out the ring which was found? Of course, i understand Sara, she was frightened after last meeting with Johnny( when he told her about the ring). May be she thought that this ring would emit negative energy or thoughts of Johnny. But I think she had better put in order her mind and not throw out the ring.
And the second one is: Why after Johnny's sudden popularity was he refused to work in school? I have no idea how to answer for this question but in my opinion it is wrong in relation to him. I consider that it couldn't effect on his activity at school.
